Switching from Fergus to MC Plus

Bring your customers, price list, booked jobs and unpaid invoices across in one go. Your past jobs and invoices come too, so you can still look things up.

What it costs

Fergus and MC Plus, side by side

Fergus's NZ pricing page shows Basic from $53 and Professional from $75 a month, plus timesheet users from $26 a month each (checked 30 October 2026). MC Plus is $39, $79 or $139 a month for the whole business.

Fergus keeps timesheets, purchase orders and hazard forms for Professional, and charges extra for certificates. In MC Plus they are on every plan.

Fergus connects to MYOB and QuickBooks as well as Xero. MC Plus works with Xero only, so check your books are in Xero first. Prices exclude GST. Source: Fergus NZ pricing. Fergus is a trade name of its owner. MC Web Studio isn't connected with it.

Step by step

How to move

1. Export from Fergus

  1. Customers: Customers, Export, CSV.
  2. Price book: Settings, Price Books, download your price book as CSV.
  3. Jobs and invoices: Reports, open the job or invoice report and press Download CSV.
  4. Or ask Fergus support for a full export and bring in the CSV files from it.

2. Drop the files into MC Plus

In MC Plus, open Settings, Data, Move to MC Plus, choose Fergus, and choose all your files at once. MC Plus works out which file is which.

3. Check, then bring it in

You see exactly what will come across before anything is added, and you can correct how any column was read. Then one press brings it all in.

Changed your mind?

Undo this move takes it all back out, keeping anything you have worked on since.

What comes across

Your business, ready on day one

  • Customers, with phone, email and address. Anyone already in MC Plus is skipped, so nobody is added twice.
  • Your price list, with cost, sell price and markup.
  • Booked jobs, straight onto your calendar with their dates and times.
  • Unpaid invoices, keeping their old numbers and what is still owing, so you can chase them and record payments.
  • Past jobs, quotes and invoices, kept as read-only history to look things up. They are not counted again as sales.
  • Not included: photos and attachments stay in Fergus. Download any you need before you cancel.

Leaving is just as easy: one download of everything in MC Plus, as spreadsheets other apps can import, plus your photos in a folder per job.
