Switching from ServiceM8 to MC Plus
Bring your customers, price list, booked jobs and unpaid invoices across in one go. Your past jobs and invoices come too, so you can still look things up.
ServiceM8 and MC Plus, side by side
ServiceM8 charges by jobs a month: $29 for 50 jobs, $79 for 150, $149 for 500 and $349 for 1,500 or more, with unlimited people on paid plans (NZ pricing page, checked 30 October 2026). MC Plus is $39, $79 or $139 a month by team size.
For a very small team doing under 50 jobs a month, ServiceM8 Starter is cheaper, but it has no forms or certificates; those start on Growing at $79. MC Plus has certificates and safety forms from $39, plus purchase orders, Xero Payroll, progress claims with retention and ad results next to your jobs (switched on for each business on request while Google and Meta finish reviewing MC Plus).
ServiceM8 is ahead on live GPS tracking and dispatch, texts included in its plans, apps for every device and 24/7 support, and it connects to MYOB and QuickBooks as well as Xero. MC Plus works with Xero only. Prices exclude GST. Source: ServiceM8 NZ pricing. ServiceM8 is a trade name of its owner. MC Web Studio isn't connected with it.
How to move
1. Export from ServiceM8
- Price list: Settings, Materials, Export Items.
- Customers: Reports, Client List, export as CSV (needs the Advanced Reporting Pack add-on).
- Jobs: Reports, Job List, export as CSV (same add-on).
- No add-on? Settings, ServiceM8 Account, Download account backup, then bring in the CSV files inside it.
2. Drop the files into MC Plus
In MC Plus, open Settings, Data, Move to MC Plus, choose ServiceM8, and choose all your files at once. MC Plus works out which file is which.
3. Check, then bring it in
You see exactly what will come across before anything is added, and you can correct how any column was read. Then one press brings it all in.
Changed your mind?
Undo this move takes it all back out, keeping anything you have worked on since.
Your business, ready on day one
- Customers, with phone, email and address. Anyone already in MC Plus is skipped, so nobody is added twice.
- Your price list, with cost, sell price and markup.
- Booked jobs, straight onto your calendar with their dates and times.
- Unpaid invoices, keeping their old numbers and what is still owing, so you can chase them and record payments.
- Past jobs, quotes and invoices, kept as read-only history to look things up. They are not counted again as sales.
- Not included: photos and attachments stay in ServiceM8. Download any you need before you cancel.
Leaving is just as easy: one download of everything in MC Plus, as spreadsheets other apps can import, plus your photos in a folder per job.
